Project
For production companies AI is a key technology to stay competitive in the global market. The IIP-Ecosphere project aims to create a novel AI ecosystem to connect industry, services, interest groups and research. Together we want to lift production systems to the next level of intelligence with the aim of an increased productivity and flexibility.
The vision of IIP-Ecosphere is to bring industry to the next level of self-optimizing production. The project is one of the key concepts that won the innovation competition “Künstliche Intelligenz als Treiber für volkswirtschaftlich relevante Ökosysteme“ (AI as driver for economic relevant ecosystems) by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWi). The project plays a strategic part of the AI strategy of the German government.volkswirtschaftlich
Lead by the Leibniz University of Hannover and together with 18 partners from industry and academics, among others Volkswagen, Siemens and Sennheiser and more than 57 associated partners, we work on building a novel ecosystem for AI solutions in industrial production systems.
With a total funding volume of 12 million Euros and a strong and diverse consortium, we tackle the challenge to enable small and medium sized enterprises to use modern AI methods in their day to day business. Besides providing solutions for the key demonstrators of selected industry partners, RapidMiner will help to shape best practices for AI in production systems.
Driven by industry relevant use cases, the aim of the project is to build a framework to make AI tangible for enterprises of all sizes and cover all aspects of the AI life cycle. Ranging from solution catalogs, legal evaluations, data sharing and integration of state-of-the-art algorithms tailored for the next level of industrial production.
